Cars are machines. You have to change the oil. You have to use
the right gas. You have to keep it up, or you’re caught in the
middle of the Columbia River Bridge… Broken down.
Your body is also a machine. It works best on specific energizing
foods, which is part of it. But there’s another part: to keep it
running, you have to be running or walking, or riding or
swimming… Or whatever we find that works for you.
Your car works with regular checkups. Your body machinery works
best if you exercise regularly.
On top of your machine running well, fitness affects your spirit.
You’re getting fit with people of like mind. You might even find
exercise partners. Speaking from experience fitness changes
everything; most importantly, your entire outlook.
We’ll start slowly. I’ll walk with you. We can work out together to
get you started, or keep it up if you choose. Another option is
setting up a home workout, inside or out. A further possibility is
to visit a fitness center, look around, watch some group classes.
We’ll do whatever it takes, whatever keeps you on target. I’ll
check in with you constantly, especially at first, making sure it
goes well.
What happens? For starters, you’ll be able
to get through your day with more energy,
with a clear head. Decision-making will be
easier; wouldn’t that be nice?
Exercise is strange: it energizes. Your body
will start to feel “in tune.” You will find
yourself “up,” and you’ll know why.
It’s called retooling, rejuvenating, rebooting.
